Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Update 20-03-2017

Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Update 20-03-2017

The condition of the NHW in general and narrow width of road at Mehar, Panthyal and Ransoo in particular gives tough time to the field staff of the Traffic wing in regulation of traffic on the NHW. Due to the narrowness of the road at the above said locations plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.

In view of the above subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on NHW on 20.03.2017 (Monday). Under this plan, movement of traffic (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side in a regulated manner. Movement of traffic (including convoys of Army, BSF, CRPF etc.) shall be allowed from Levdora (Qazigund) from 0700 hours and all these vehicles shall cross Jawahar tunnel by 1300 hours positively. However, cut off timing for all Jammu bound vehicles shall be 1000 hours at Pantha Chowk (Srinagar) beyond which no Jammu bound vehicle shall be allowed to cross the said location and instead they shall be parked at appropriate places in an orderly manner so that no hindrance is caused to the movement of normal traffic.

No movement of traffic including that of convoys of Army, BSF, CRPF etc. shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side on 20.03.2017 under any circumstances to ensure hassle free movement of traffic on the NHW.

Commuters are requested/advised that vehicles are not parked in any landslide/avalanche/vulnerable zones of NHW especially from Ramsoo – Jawahar Tunnel – Levdora under any circumstances. All the vulnerable/avalanche prone zones should be kept free from any kind of traffic to avoid any eventuality.
