Post-Matric Scholarship 2018-19 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students of J&K

Applications are invited from “Scheduled Tribe” (ST) students for Grant of Post-Matric Scholarship for the year 2018-19.

Applications on prescribed proforma are invited from “Scheduled Tribe” students for grant of Scholarship under the Scheme “Post-Matric Scholarship to ST students” for the year 2018-19 whose parents/Guardians Income does not exceed to Rs: 2,50,000/= per Annum and are pursuing their studies in different Government/Private Recognized Educational Institutions.

The application forms accompanied with the certificates/documents mentioned hereunder, shall be deposited with the concerned Head of the Institution who after proper verification and scrutiny shall forward the soft copy as well as hard copy of the list along-with forms as per proforma Annexure”A”to District Tribal Welfare Officer Rajouri, in case of District Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Samba & Kathua and to District Tribal Welfare Officer Reasi in case of District Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda & Kishtwar, who in turn will submit forms to Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs Office Jammu after proper verification of genuineness of the documents/daim and in case of Kashmir Division to Deputy Director Tribal Affairs Kashmir Suleiman Complex Dalgate, Srinagar by or before 16th of August, 2018.No application form shall be entertained after the 16th of August, 2018. In case of any difficulty concerned Head of the Institution can contact the following Officers/Officials during Office Hours. Forms can be downloaded from Website: tribalaffairs.jk.gov.in.

The Head of the Institutions will submit verified forms as and when received without waiting for the last date. Head of the Institution should submit the list and application forms through proper Channel. Students are advised to deposit forms complete in all respect with the Head of the Institution concerned where he/she is studying, no forms from the student shall be entertained. Forms only submitted by the concerned Head of the Institution along-with consolidated list, soft as well as hard copy and certificate of genuineness of documents shall be entertained.

SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

i) Mere filling of application forms will not construe right of the student that he will be granted Scholarship.

Preference shall be given to the Government Institutions.

Scholarship will be restricted to availability of funds.

The Scholarships are open to nationals of India.

Candidates who after passing one stage of Education are studying in the same stage of Education in a different subject e.g. I.Sc after LA. or B.Com after B.A or M.A in other subject will not be eligible.

Students who, after having completed their Educational career in one Professional line, wish to study for another Profession e.g., LLB after B.T/B.Ed. will not be eligible.

vii) Students pursuing Post-Graduate courses in Medicines will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their Courses.

viii) A Scholarship holder under this Scheme will not hold any other Scholarship/stipend.

ix) Students who have already received coaching in any of the Pre-Examination Training Centers with Financial Assistant from the Government will not be eligible.

Escort Allowance of Rs. 160/- Per Month for severally handicapped day Scholars students with Low extremity disability is admissible.

Special Pay of Rs. 160/- Per Month is admissible to any employee of the Hostel willing to extend help to a severally orthopedically handicapped student residing in Hostel of an Educational Institution, who may need the assistance of a helper, xii) Allowances of Rs. 240/- Per Month towards extra Coaching to mentally retarded and mentally ill students can also be sanctioned.

If a student is found to have obtained a Scholarship by false statements, his/her Scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the Scholarship paid will be recovered. The Student concerned will be blacklisted and debarred for Scholarship in any Scheme forever.

A Scholarship awarded may be cancelled if the Scholars change the subject of the course of study for which the Scholarship was originally awarded.

A Scholar is liable to refund the Scholarship amount at the discretion of the Government, if during the Course of the year, the studies for which the Scholars has been awarded, is discontinued by him/her.

DOCUMENTS/CERTIFICATES TO BE ATTACHED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM:

i) One passport size photograph to be pasted on Application form duly attested by the Head of the Institution.

ii) Permanent Residence Certificate (State Subject).

iii) Parents/Guardian’s Income certificate indicating income from all sources (In Original from concerned Tehsildar in case of students parents/guardians are non-Government Employees) along-with income declaration by the self-employed parents/guardian’s, stating definite income from all sources by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper. In case of Government Employees, Salary Certificate issued by the concerned Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDO) is to be attached/ in case of Retired Government Employee pension slip from the treasury Officer, besides an affidavit on non-judicial Stamp Paper regarding other income if any.

iv) Caste Certificate (Scheduled Tribe) from competent authority.

v) Receipt of Fee in Original issued by the Institution.

vi) Attested promotion certificates, (Renewal case only).
vii) Hosteller Certificate, issued by the Institution/Warden.
