JAMMU SANSKRITI SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANISES SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON DUSSHERA KEEPING THE FESTIVE SPIRIT ALIVE
Dusshera, the festival to celebrate the victory of good over evil was celebrated in the premises of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu with a lot of religious zeal and fervour. The programme began with a prayer and a message on Dusshera. This was followed by recitation of poem by the two students of Class 3rd and a presentation by Devanshi of Class-4th, on why we celebrate Dusshera. The highlights of the show were a narration of Ramayans in the form of a short skit by the senior students of Class 9th and 10th.
To mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil the effigy of Ravana was burnt along with which student’s burnt one evil habit that they had written on paper slips, while promising to shun it. Dandia, a traditional dance was presented by the middle-wing students in a graceful manner. Colourful attire worn by the dancers and the sticks they carried was eye catching.
Principal cum Vice-Chairperson of the school appreciated the performance of the students and also highlighted the reason behind celebrating Dusshera and why it is called Vijya dashmi. Coordinators from Pre-Primary, Primary and middle wing also spoke on the relevance of Dusshera theme and encouraged students to fight for justice in their lives.
