Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Plan for 05.05.2017

The widening/repair work at Panthyal and Ramsoo is going on and efforts are afoot to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view over all condition of the road, plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.

Therefore, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW on 05.05.2017. Under the said plan, movement of traffic (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side in a regulated manner. Movement of the traffic shall be allowed from Levdora (Qazigund) from 0700 hours and all these vehicles shall cross Jawahar Tunnel by 1300 hours positively. However, in order to avoid congestion on the NHW, cut off timing for all the Jammu bound vehicles shall be 1000 hours at Pantha Chowk (Srinagar) beyond which no Jammu bound vehicle shall be allowed to cross the said location and instead these vehicles shall be parked at appropriate places in an orderly manner so that no hindrance is caused to the movement of normal traffic.

No movement of any sort of traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side on 05.05.2017 under any circumstances to avoid congestion on the NHW.
