Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Plan for 12.05.2017

The widening/repair work at Panthyal is going on and efforts are afoot to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view over all condition of the road, allowing the two-way movement of all sort of traffic on the NHW is not feasible.

However, keeping in view the movement of tourists/emergency vehicles and in order to facilitate the passengers, movement of Light motor vehicles on the NHW only shall be both ways on 12.05.2017 for a specified time only.

Therefore, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, on 12.05.2017, movement of all sort of traffic (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side in a regulated manner. Movement of vehicles shall be allowed from Levdora (Qazigund) from 0700 hours and all these vehicles shall cross Jawahar Tunnel by 1300 hours positively. However, in order to avoid congestion on the NHW, cut off timing for all the Jammu bound vehicles shall be 1000 hours at Pantha Chowk (Srinagar) beyond which no Jammu bound vehicle shall be allowed to cross the said location and instead these vehicles shall be parked at appropriate places in an orderly manner so that no hindrance is caused to the movement of normal traffic.




Similarly, on 12.05.2017 movement of LMVs/Light Passenger vehicles only (excluding medium/heavy passenger vehicles viz. Tempo Traveller/buses etc.) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side in a very strict and regulated manner. Movement of these vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 1000 hours up to 1300 hours and from Udhampur up to 1400 hours only.
