Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Plan for 26.04.2017
The repair/widening work of the NHW at Seri, Gangroo, Panthyal, Hingni and Sherbibi is going on and efforts are being made by the concerned road maintenance agencies to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view the over all condition of the road, plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.
Therefore, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW on 26.04.2017. Under the said plan, movement of traffic (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side in a regulated manner. Movement of the traffic shall be allowed from Levdora (Qazigund) from 0700 hours and all these vehicles shall cross Jawahar Tunnel by 1300 hours positively. However, in order to avoid congestion on the NHW, cut off timing for all the Jammu bound vehicles shall be 1000 hours at Pantha Chowk (Srinagar) beyond which no Jammu bound vehicle shall be allowed to cross the said location and instead these vehicles shall be parked at appropriate places in an orderly manner so that no hindrance is caused to the movement of normal traffic.
No movement of any sort of traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side on 26.04.2017 under any circumstances to ensure hassle free movement of traffic on the NHW.
Commuters are requested/advised that vehicles are not parked in any landslide/ vulnerable zones of NHW especially from Ramsoo – Jawahar Tunnel – Levdora under any circumstances. All the vulnerable/slide prone zones should be kept free from all sorts of traffic to avoid any eventuality.
It may be pertinent to mention here that despite hectic efforts by the concerned road maintenance agencies in clearing-off the road at Drabshalla, the road at the said location could not be made traffic worthy due to triggering of regular shooting stones and is still blocked. As such no movement of traffic shall be allowed on the said road stretch tomorrow on 26.04.2017 keeping the security/safety of the passengers in view. However, after completion of the restoration/repair work, movement of traffic on the said road stretch shall be allowed in a regulated manner after assessing the road condition.
