Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Plan for 30.04.2017
Darbar Move- 2017

The weather in most of the areas of the NHW is not good and it is raining in Jawahar Tunnel, Banihal, Sherbibi and Ramsoo sectors of the NHW continuously.

Further, the repair/widening work of the NHW at Seri, Gangroo, Panthyal, Hingni, Sherbibi and Ramsoo has been also taken in hand by the concerned road maintenance agencies and efforts are afoot to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. But keeping in view the over all condition of the road, plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.

As such subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW on 30.04.2017. Under the said plan, movement of traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side in a regulated manner, keeping in view the Dabar Move of offices 0from Jammu to Srinagar. Movement of LMVs/passenger vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0500 hours up to 1000 hours and from Udhampur up to 1100 hours. It shall be ensured that precedence is given to the hassle free movement/ safe passage of vehicles carrying Darbar Move employees/important official records of Civil Secretariat and other Move offices. However, the movement of HMVs (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) only after tail vehicle of the Darbar Move convoy crosses the said location safely. Strict implementation of the directions shall be ensured for effective management of traffic on the NHW.

No movement of any sort of traffic including convoys of Army, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB etc. shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side on 30.04.2017 under any circumstances in order to avoid traffic congestion on the NHW.

Commuters are requested/advised that vehicles are not parked in any landslide/vulnerable zones of NHW, especially from Ramsoo – Jawahar Tunnel – Levdora under any circumstances. All the vulnerable/slide-prone zones should be kept free from any kind of traffic to avoid any eventuality.

People are requested to undertake journey on the National Highway after confirming status of the NHW from the TCUs as the chances of occurring of sudden land slides on the NHW cannot be ruled out. They should contact TCU Srinagar (01942450022, 2485396), TCU Ramban (9419993745) and TCU Jammu (01912459048, 9419147732) to get the status of the NHW before starting their journey.
