KVK Doda conducts field demonstration on management of paddy blast

Krishi Vigyan Kendra SKUAST-J, Doda (Bhaderwah) conducted field demonstrations on the management of paddy blast at village Thalsara Panchayat Sangru of District Doda. This area has been hit by the paddy blast, a disease that affects the paddy crop severely and results in a significant reduction in the crop yield. Scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda educated the farmers about causes, symptoms and modes spread of paddy blast, methods of its management including chemical management. They were also taught to prepare the solution of Trycyclazole, a fungicide used for the management of the disease. Besides, appropriate method of uniform spraying of solution in the fields was also demonstrated to the farmers in the fields by the scientists. For the purpose of field demonstration on management of paddy blast through trycylazole, a cluster of 110 kanal of paddy area of the village Thalsara has been selected. The farmers falling in the cluster were provided fungicide by the KVK. Dr. Narinder Paul, Dr Amit Singh Charak and Dr Amitesh Sharma scientists KVK Doda under the leadership of Dr R.S. Bandral Senior Scientist conducted the field demonstrations under overall guidance of Dr K.S. Risam Director Extension SKUAST Jammu.
