Subject: Merit-cum-Means and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the students belonging to Minority Communities for the year 2015-16.

On-line applications are invited from the students of J&K State belonging to the Minority Communities notified by the Central Government viz; Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains for grant of Scholarship (Fresh/Renewal) during the year 2015-16 under the Scheme “Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship” and “Post-Matric Scholarship” to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

  1. A) Merit cum Means based Scholarship

Technical/Professional Degree Courses at Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Levels of Government/Government recognized Private Colleges and Institutions. Note Students should check the details of the courses available on the website www. minorityaffairs.gov.in before filling the application form.

jncome Criteria:

The annual family income of the parents/guardian of the student should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lacs per annum

Bl Post Matric Scholarship

Class XI to Graduate/Post Graduate level of Government/ Government recognized Private Schools, Colleges and Institutions including technical vocational courses of Industrial Training Institutes affiliated with NCVT of Class XI-XII level and the courses other than covered under Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship.

Income Criteria:

The annual family income of the parents/guardian of the student should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lacs per annum from all sources.

Conditions/Eligibility criteria for scholarship:-

♦ Students, who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade are eligible to apply.

♦ Scholarship will be provided to only two students of one Parent.

♦ A scholarship holder under this Scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course/class.

♦ 30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students. In case, sufficient number of eligible girl students is not available, then the balance-earmarked scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.

♦ Students are advised to quote Aadhar UID Number in the application form.

♦ Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the course during the preceding year.

♦ Part time/Distance Mode/Correspondence courses are not entitled for Scholarship.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ON-LINE FILLING OF APPLICATION FORMS:-

♦ The students should read frequently asked questions (FAQs) available on the homepage of the website www.momascholarship.gov.in for filling up of online applications.

♦ From 2015-16, the on-line implementation of the schemes will be done through the common National Scholarship Web Portal of the Government of India under URL www. scholarships.gov.in.

♦ The scholarship schemes have gone into Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, which means that the scholarship sanctioned in favour of eligible students would be directly, credited into their accounts through the Ministry. Therefore, it is mandatory to provide bankaccount number with complete details e.g (16 Digit A/c No. for J&K Bank, 11 digits A/C No. for State Bank of India etc) with correct IFSC and MICR Code. Further, all the students should necessarily have bank account in their own name. If the bank account is in the name of any of the family member, scholarship would not be credited into their account.

♦ Uploading of documents by students has been made mandatory under Merit- cum-Means Based Scholarship Scheme (both Fresh and Renewal Cases) and under Post Matric Scholarship Scheme (only Renewal cases). Accordingly, the students are advised to take printout of the duly filled-in applications forms, after submitting it On-line and get it countersigned from Head of the Institution. After getting countersigned from the HOD, the students have to upload the scanned copies of the following documents:-

1) Institution Verification Form

2) Income Certificate;

  1. Salary certificate from the employer (DDO) for employed parents/ guardian in original.
  2. For Non-Employed parents/Guardian, certificate to be issued by Tehsildar in original.

3) For community Certification, student can submit self declaration.

4) Self attested certificate of qualifying exam as filled in the form for fresh cases.

5) Self attested Certificate of last exam passed as filled in the form for renewal cases.

6) Fee receipt of’Current Course Year.

7) Proof of Bank Account in the name of the student.

8) Aadhar Card (optional).

9) Proof of Address (optional).

♦ For Fresh cases under Post-Matric Scholarship, the students studying in Kashmir division are advised to submit the hard copies along with all above- mentioned documents to institutions where they are studying who in turn would forward it online and offline to the District Social Welfare Officer of the district where the institution falls.

♦ For Fresh cases under Post-Matric Scholarship (in case of students studying outside the state), the head of the institutions are advised to send the hard copies alongwith all supporting documents of the students of J&K to the respective District Social Welfare Office, where the student is residing instead of Secretary to Government, Social Welfare Department J&K. The forms should reach the respective District Social Welfare Officer well in time so that the scrutiny could be made and forms forwarded to next level.

♦ Submission of hard copies is not mandatory in case of Merit cum means (both fresh and renewal) and Post Matric (renewal only). Therefore, Institutions/Districts will not wait for hardcopies of the form as scrutiny of online applications is to be done based on uploaded documents and not based on hard copies. The institutions after getting the on-line applications in user accounts would forward it online through Login User ID’s provided to them. It is mandatory for institutions to forward the forms on-line and this office will
