IIT Jammu Non-Teaching Recruitment 2024 – Notification Overview

IIT Jammu has announced a recruitment drive for various non-teaching positions through Advertisement No. IIT Jammu/01/2024. Below are the key details:

1. IIT Jammu Recruitment Details:

Positions Available:

Registrar: 1 post (Group A)

Assistant Workshop Officer: 1 post (Group A)

Laboratory Assistant: 9 posts across various departments (Group C)

Recruitment Type: Direct recruitment and deputation-based roles.

2. Eligibility Criteria:

Registrar:

Education: Master’s degree with 60% marks.

Experience: Minimum 15 years in relevant academic/administrative roles, including time spent as Assistant/Associate Professor or Deputy Registrar.

Assistant Workshop Officer:

Education: M.Tech in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production Engineering or related fields, or B.Tech/Diploma in the same with relevant experience.

Experience: Minimum 3 years (M.Tech), 4 years (B.Tech), or 6 years (Diploma) of experience.

Laboratory Assistant:

Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent in a relevant field, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience.

3. Age Limit (as of the advertisement date):

Registrar: Up to 57 years.

Assistant Workshop Officer: Up to 45 years.

Laboratory Assistant: Up to 33 years.

4. Pay Scale:

Registrar: Level-14 (₹144,200 – ₹218,200)

Assistant Workshop Officer: Level-10 (₹56,100 – ₹177,500)

Laboratory Assistant: Level-5 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300)

5. How to Apply:

Application Process: Online applications to be submitted at IIT Jammu Portal.

Application Dates: From 12th October 2024 to 2nd November 2024.

Application Fee:

Group A: ₹1000 (₹800 for application + ₹200 for processing)

Group B & C: ₹500 (₹300 for application + ₹200 for processing)

Exemptions: SC/ST, PwD, and women candidates are exempt from the application fee, but must pay a processing fee of ₹200.

6. Selection Process:

The selection process may involve a written test, proficiency test, computer test, and/or interview.

The final merit list will be based on cumulative marks or elimination at each stage, depending on the post.
