MeT predicts dry weather in J&K from tomorrow

The Meteorological department today predicted dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir from March 4-9. However it forecast light to moderate rains and snow at most places of J&K, while few higher reaches of north and central Kashmir likely to receive moderate to heavy snowfall today, which may cause landslides, shooting stones and mudslides over vulnerable places.

An official said that light to moderate rains and snow likely to take place at most places of Jammu and Kashmir today, while higher reaches of north and central Kashmir may receive moderate to heavy snowfall in the meanwhile.

He however said the weather may likely improve from tomorrow onwards and will remain dry till March 9.

From March 10-12, the official said there are chances of another spell of rains and snow in J&K.

He advised tourists, travelers and transporters to follow advisories strictly, and added the farmers are advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations till March 4.

The official urged to avoid sloppy and avalanche prone areas during bad weather conditions
