Sumo plunges into river near Ramsoo

An official said that a Tata Sumo on way to Jammu from Shopian district of south Kashmir met with the accident near Gangroo in Ramsoo and fell into Bishlari nallah.

At least one person died while several others were injured on Thursday when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge on Srinagar-Jammu highway, police said.

An official said that a Tata Sumo on way to Jammu from Shopian district of south Kashmir met with the accident near Gangroo in Ramsoo and fell into Bishlari nallah.

Eight people were onboard the vehicle, bearing registration number JK03 8881, when the accident took place.

Station House Officer (SHO) Ramsoo Mohammad Amin Malik said that one person died while another one is trapped in the river.
