Latest Advertisement Notice for the position of RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA) & JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF)

University of Kashmir invites the applications on plain paper with the Complete complete biodata and necessary qualifications/experience certificates/testimonials, addressed to the undersigned for ONE post of RESEARCH ASSOCIATE and FOUR posts of JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (all posts are purely temporary) in Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) sponsored research project entitled “Geological characterization of the Kashmir Valley with the objective of quantifying probabilistic hazard and risk in high risk areas of the valley using a logically integrated set of geoscientific investigations”.

Interested Candidates can appear for personal interview along with original qualification & experience certificates in the office chamber of Head of Department, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Kashmir, Srinagar on 10^th May, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Candidates are advised to come along with photocopies of qualification certificates and experience certificates should reach the undersigned by or before 09^th MAY, 2016.

The requisite terms and conditions, qualification, remuneration, etc. for the same are given below:

Ph. D. in Earthquake Geology/Seismology/Geoinformatics/ Geotectonic & Earthquake Engineering. At least ONE research paper published in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.	Field/research experience on geoscientific study of earthquake hazards, vulnerability and risk assessment in Himalayan regions; working knowledge of computers, geological mapping/ geophysical borehole logging/ seismotectonics/ geotectonic and earthquake hazards/ RS&GIS modeling.
2	Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Rs. 25,000+HRA +MA (as applicable under university rule)	04 (Four only)	M.Sc./M.Tech. in Applied Geology/Geology/Earth Sciences/ Geophysics/Physics/Seismology/Geoinformatics/Geotectonic & earthquake engineering/with at least 55% of marks. Candidate with M. Phil. in sedimentology/earthquake hazards/RS&GIS modeling in hazard vulnerability and risk assessment shall be preferred.	Working knowledge of computers; NET/GATE qualified; Candidates with experience in geological mapping/ geophysical borehole logging/geospatial modeling/ geotechnical survey shall be given preference.
