Tragic Accident Claims Life of Young Police Officer in Jammu

A tragic accident early this morning has left a family devastated after a young police officer, Manpreet Singh, lost his life in a fatal collision with an e-bus.

The incident occurred while he was on his way to duty, fully prepared for the day ahead. Within 15 minutes of his departure, the heartbreaking news reached his family.

Eyewitnesses reported that the e-bus ran over the bike, causing Manpreet’s instant death on the spot. This accident has shaken the entire community, especially the family, which has already faced significant loss.

Just six months ago, Manpreet’s father had passed away, and now the family mourns another irreplaceable loss.

Senior police officials, including SP South, have taken swift action. The driver of the e-bus has been taken into custody, and CCTV footage from the area is being thoroughly examined to determine the exact cause of the accident and to rule out any negligence.

Ajit Singh, a close family member, expressed deep sorrow while speaking to the media. “This is an unimaginable loss for our family. Within moments, everything changed. We urge the authorities to ensure strict adherence to traffic rules and to increase awareness campaigns for drivers and two-wheeler riders.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee has extended full support to the grieving family. The body has been taken to the GMC Mortuary in Bakshi Nagar, where heart-wrenching scenes unfolded as the family gathered to pay their final respects.
