Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic update 06 May.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

From 04-05-2025, 1700 hrs. to 05-05-2025, 1700 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to movement of 13 nomadic flocks, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather and due to four lane construction work.

Traffic managed on regulated manner at Mehad, Cafeteria, Ramban on NH-44 due to single lane and 100-150 meters. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.

Commuters are advised not to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during night hours due to apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

Goods carrier (HMVs/LMVs) Operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW only after confirming status of road from Traffic control units as there is apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

Goods carrier (HMVs/LMVs) Operators carrying fresh perishable stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time, as there is single lane traffic and poor surface condition of road at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to avoid overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They should also double check the fitness of their vehicles and ensure that vehicles should not be older than 25 years.

Commuters are advised to be alert while driving and ensure their vehicle is in good condition. Avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal due to shooting stones.

Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44)
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 06-05-2025:

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs Passengers/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. However, HMVs (Load carrier) shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road and traffic situation. No HMVs shall be allowed from Qazigund towards Jammu till further orders after 1600 hrs. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road condition. Commuters are requested to check NH-44 status at J&K Traffic Police social media platforms/helpline before travel.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion due to narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status from TCU beforehand.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244:
Subject to fair weather and road clearance, movement on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road shall be taken up after getting green signal from road maintenance agency NHIDCL.

Ssg Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting clearance signal from the BRO, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Kargil. These vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg between 0730 hrs to 1100 hrs. Thereafter only LMVs shall be allowed from Minimarg towards Srinagar between 1100 hrs to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed between 1530 hrs to 0730 hrs due to maintenance of road.

Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (GREF), LMVs Passengers/Private Cars shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian at 0900 hrs. and HMVs (upto ten tyres) shall be allowed from 1000 hrs. However, HMVs (with fresh perishable/frozen goods only) upto six tyres only shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch after the tail of downward convoy crosses Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) at 1100 hrs.

Bhaderwah-Chamba road:
Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
