Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic Update 25 Aug 2025.
TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
From 23-08-2025, 1600 hrs. to 24-08-2025, 1600 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 03 HMVs, single lane traffic at Nashri-Dhalwas and between Marog & Kishtwar Patheri.
In view of inclement weather prediction issued by MeT Deptt. & long spell of rainfall for next few days. People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming status of the road from TCU/ Srinagar/Ramban/Jammu and check weather update from MeT Deptt. and Traffic Police Twitter handle and face book page.
One tube of the Sakar Khad bridge on Jammu-Kathua National Highway has been damaged due to flash flood. Traffic movement on Jammu-Kathua National Highway shall be regulated for all type of vehicular movement. However, only LMVs will be diverted from Palli Morh and Kalibari. People are advised to avoid travel if not necessary.
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time only as the HMVs/Lcoal carriers ply during night hours. People are further advised to avoid travelling on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during inclement weather/ shooting stones/landslides/ due to rainy season between Ramban and Banihal.
Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to prefer their journey during day time. Traffic Police Headquarters time to time advises in case there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Nashri-Dhalwas and between Marog & Kishtwar Patheri on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Security Forces are advised/ requested not to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that while plying on NHW, vehicles should be in the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 25-08-2025
NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar NHW):
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMWs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar. HMVs shall also be allowed to move from Qazigund towards Jammu in view of the damaged bridge on Sakar Khad near Kalibari Kathua on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for regulating the HMVs. People are requested to check NH 44 status at J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and face book page.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244:
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement due to landslide at Sinthan Nalla.
SSG ROAD:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO), traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing. These cut off timings shall strictly be followed. SFs Convoy shall plan their movement in such a manner that Civil Traffic (both UP and DOWN) don’t get disturbed.
Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF). LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Mughal road viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa From Shopian towards Poonch, HMVs (upto ten tyres only) shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch. Similarly, HMVs shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) at 1500 hrs after green signal from TCU.
