Post: Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication), Home Department – UT Cadre The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued Advertisement Notification No. 11 of 2025 to recruit 83 Sub-Inspectors (Telecommunication) for the Home Department, UT of J&K.

1. Total Vacancies

2. Important Dates

Start of Online Applications: 15 December 2025

Last Date to Apply: 13 January 2026

3. Eligibility – Domicile Requirement

Only domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can apply.
Candidates must have a valid domicile certificate issued before the last date (13.01.2026).

4. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in any of these fields:

Computer Science Engineering

Electronics & Communication Engineering

Telecommunication Engineering

Information Technology

Mechatronics

Data Science

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Cyber Security

Only these streams are accepted.

5. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

For most categories:

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 28 years

Relaxations:

In-service Police personnel: up to 30 years

Ex-servicemen: can deduct years of service + 3 years relaxation

6. Physical Standards (PST)

(Qualifying in nature – no marks)

For Males

Height: 5 ft 6 in

Chest: 32″ (unexpanded), 33.5″ (expanded)

For Females

Height: 5 ft 2 in

Height Relaxations

Gorkha community: 2 inches relaxation

Bot Tribe: 2 inches relaxation

7. Physical Endurance Test (PET)

(Also qualifying)

Male Candidates

1600 meters run in 6 min 30 sec

20 push-ups

Female Candidates

1000 meters run in 6 min 30 sec

Shot put (4kg): 14.5 feet

Relaxations for Ex-Servicemen

Time and performance relaxed based on age groups.

8. Selection Process

Selection includes three stages:

1. Written Examination

Objective type (MCQs)

English medium

Negative marking: ¼ mark per wrong answer

NCC bonus marks added to written exam score:

• NCC “C”: +5%
• NCC “B”: +3%
• NCC “A”: +2%

2. PST – Physical Standard Test

Only qualifying

6 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted

3. PET – Physical Endurance Test

Only qualifying

9. Application Fee

₹700 — General categories

₹600 — SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS candidates

Only online payment is accepted.

10. Pay Scale

Level-6C (₹35,700 – ₹1,13,100)
