TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 21-12-2025 NH-44 (NHW)

From 19-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 20-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs on NH-44.

In view of the inclement weather prediction issued by the MET Department, indicating a spell of snowfall/rainfall for the next few days, people are advised to undertake journeys only after confirming the road status from TCU Srinagar / TCU Ramban / TCU Jammu and to check updates on the J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Passengers / LMV operators are advised to prefer travel during the daytime on the Jammu–Srinagar NHW. Avoid night journeys due to the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel and migration of nomads from Kashmir Valley towards Jammu, which may inconvenience commuters.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may cause congestion.

Vehicle Regulations (Subject to fair weather & good road conditions)

LMVs / Passenger Vehicles / Private Cars / HMVs (Good carriers)

Allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).

TCU Jammu / Srinagar will inform regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Allowed from both sides on NH-44.

SF vehicles shall also be allowed on NH-1A (towards TCU Ramban).

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)

After green signal from NHIDCL, only LMVs allowed from both sides.

Vehicles must have PP Pahalgam / PP Daksum between 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.

SSG Road

After green signal from BRO, regulated traffic allowed.

LMVs followed by HMVs (up to six tyres) allowed from Minimarg to Sonamarg (0500–1000 hrs).

Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs (up to six tyres) allowed from Sonamarg to Minimarg (1130–1700 hrs).

SFs convoy plying Srinagar–Kargil and vice-versa shall follow a manner so that civilian traffic (UP & DOWN) is not disturbed.

Mughal Road

After green signal from Road Maintenance Agencies (GREF):

LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars allowed from both sides via Poonch.

Movement allowed Bheramgalla (Baffliaz) between 0600–1730 hrs as per District Magistrate Poonch order.

HMVs (up to six tyres) allowed Shopian → Poonch.

No HMV allowed Poonch → Mughal Road.

TCU Jammu & TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about advisories and cut-off timings.
