Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic update 23 Dec.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 23-12-2025

From 21-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 22-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs on NH-44.

In view of inclement weather prediction issued by the MET Department, indicating a spell of snowfall/rainfall for the next few days, people are advised to undertake journeys only after confirming road status from TCU Srinagar / Ramban / Jammu and to check updates on J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Passengers / LMV operators are advised to prefer journeys on the Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Avoid night journeys due to the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.

NH-44 (NHW)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars / HMVs (Good carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).
TCU Jammu / Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 (Jammu ↔ Srinagar) after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)

Closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.

SSG ROAD

Srinagar – Sonamarg – Gumari road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.

Mughal Road

Closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
