Diversity makes the world more beautiful! Doing traditional…. Students of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu organised ‘Ethnic Village Camp’ with full pomp and splendour. In the era of modernization and westernisation when most of the people are moving away from their own culture and history, events like Ethnic Camp enable the young generation to revive love and respect for their own culture and history. With this intend , the students and faculty of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu joined hands to celebrate and showcase our regional tradition and culture to everyone present on campus by organising ETHNIC VILLAGE CAMP – A TALENT EXUBERANCE showcasing Duggar Pradesh.

This colourful and musical event gave chance to students’ fraternity to meet up and had a healthy competition. The event began with heart warming welcome address and welcome song followed by traditional lamp lighting. Soon the entire campus was charged with ethnic atmosphere when the choir from different schools presented folk symphonies and the students performed dazzling, exquisite and traditional dances from Jammu.
Apart from the above mentioned performances, six splendid competitions were also hosted by us, one was clay modelling, handicraft (best out of waste), painting competition (Green Jammu Clean Jammu), cook without fire, solo singing and ramp walk. These competitions bestowed students with opportunities wherein they can explore themselves. The winners of the competitions were Clay Moulding Aps BD Bari bagged First Position, GD Goenka Public School, Jammu 2nd Position & 3rd Position Was Bagged by Mount Litera Zee School, Kathua. In Junior Chef (Cooking without Fire) Heritage School bagged First Position, GD Goenka Public School, Jammu 2nd Position & 3rd Position Was bagged by APS Damana . In Handicrafts (Best out of waste) Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu bagged First Position, APS, BD Bari 2nd Position & 3rd Position was bagged by GD Goenka Public School, Jammu. In Painting Competition bagged Jodhamal Public School First Position, Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu 2nd Position & 3rd Position was bagged by Heritage School, Jammu. In Walk in the Ramp (Outfits) Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu bagged First Position, JK Public School, Kathua 2nd Position & 3rd Position was bagged by Jodhamal Public School, Jammu. In Solo Singing – Folk Song Dogri Nivedita from Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua bagged First Position, Jeevan Jyoti from Aps Daman bagged 2nd Position & 3rd Position was bagged by Shivansh from DBN Amarvilla who were rewarded with trophies & certificates. All the participants were given participation certificates. The audience were left spell bound with a ‘Jhanki’ displaying ‘Dogra Culture’ was taken out.

The day was relinquished with the speech of our Principal cum Vice Chairperson of the school Ms Rohini Aima who asserted that schools are now a days not only believe in catering to the academic needs of the students but also providing them space wherein their talent gets nurtured and they imbibe and get closer to their culture and tradition. Altogether the event went off very well leaving a trail and hope for next year.
