The IMD issued an advisory, including a weather warning and alert for four days upto May 8 for thunderstorms, squall etc. According to the Met department, thunderstorm, likely to be accompanied with gusty winds, can hit isolated places over J&K.

05 May : Thunderstorm accompanied with squall very likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Odisha and Kerala.

♦ Heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

♦ Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail one are two pockets of West Rajasthan.

06 May: ♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hail very likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

♦ Heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

07 May: ♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hail very likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh.

♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

♦ Heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya.

♦ Dust storm/ Thunderstorm at isolated places over West Rajasthan.
