Launching of Pragati and Saksham Scholarship Schemes by All India Council for technical Education Gol for Specially-abled and girl students for pursuing Technical Education

In an attempt to support by providing financial assistance to low income Girl students and every young Specially-abled students to facilitate Pursuing of higher technical Education and to prepare for a successful future to participate fully in the development process, All India Council forTechnical Education has launched Pragati and Saksham Scholarship Schemes. The Scheme details, in brief are given as under

AICTE PRAGATI Scholarship Scheme. Who can apply?

The scheme is aimed at providing encouragement and support to girl students pursuing Technical Education at Degree or Diploma Level with annual family income less than Rs 8.00 lakhs. In this scheme all eligible girl students of Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh taking admission in 2020-21 in the AICTE approved institutions will be given scholarships by AICTE.

AICTE SAKSHAM Scholarship Scheme Who can apply?

The scheme is aimed at providing encouragement and support to Specially-abled students pursuing Technical Education at Degree or Diploma Level with annual family income less than Rs 8.00 lakhs. In this scheme all Specially-abled students with 40% disability of Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh taking admission in 2020-21 in the first /second year (Lateral Entry) in the AICTE approved institutions will be given scholarships by AICTE.

Scholarship amounts per annum for PRAGATI&SAKSHAM schemes:

Amount of scholarship: Rs 50,000 per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 4 years for Degree and 3 years for Diploma for first year admitted students and maximum 3 years for Degree and 2 years for Diploma for second year admitted students through lateral entry as lump sum amount towards payment of college lee, computer purchase, stationery, books, Equipment, Software’s purchase etc.

The scholarships under PRAGATI and SAKSHAM schemes shall be disbursed thorough the National Scholarships Portal (NSP) of Government of India from the current academic year i.e. 2020-21,

How to Apply?

The candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions may apply online live on National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in/) after initiation of application.The institution where the candidate is studying is required to verify the online application followed by the concerned Department of Technical Education (DTE) of respective State /UT as second level of scrutiny. The scholarship will be renewed for the subsequent year of study on receipt of renewal request through National Scholarship Portal by submitting passing certificate/ mark sheet.
