JKSSB Refutes Motivated Attempts by certain Vested Interests a against Online CBT Examination System
This is with reference to social media posts being circulated on various social media platforms by a few unscrupulous elements professing to be self-proclaimed votaries of OMR based examination system, for running a smear campaign against the examinations activities of the JKSSB under the garb of pointing out perceived disadvantages of the CBT
examinations, more particularly the equi-percentile method of score normalization and generation of results, for a multi-shift examination. The mischievous elements, while trying to mobilize opinion in favour of the OMR based examinations, most likely at the behest of certain vested interests are spreading baseless, malicious and factually incorrect information and also levelling wild and reckless allegations against the JKSSB.
The JKSSB has been conducting its activities with utmost fairness and transparency as per the available best practices and tools, with full focus on time bound completion of recruitments, despite a new legal framework post reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir and challenges posed by outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
In the context of CBT examination, it would be important to clarify that this method is being used by all prominent National and State level recruiting bodies which includes, SSC, RRB, IBPS, etc. and that equi-percentile method for normalization of scores and generation ofresult for multi-shift examinations, is most widely as well as legally accepted method. The equi-percentile method of score normalization is not being put to use by the JKSSB alone and therefore, all attempts to create confusions about it are guided by malafide intentions or self-interest.
It would be relevant to add that the JKSSB also has recently conducted two largest ever OMR based examinations of Jammu and Kashmir for Accounts Assistant (Panchayat) and Class IV posts respectively with utmost transparency and efficiency in a smooth manner which amply demonstrated the capability of this institution to handle any sort of challenge on recruitment front. Even at that time, lots of false, motivated and baseless stories were planted on social media platforms by vested interests to run a malicious campaign against OMR based examination and indirectly against the JKSSB, to derail the process of
OMR based examination and indirectly against the JKSSB, to derail the process of recruitments. Therefore, the present desperate attempts to spread misinformation or create false notions is a clever ploy of certain vested interests to deflect/ divert attention from the good work being done by the JKSSB to provide employment to deserving and meritorious candidates in a time bound and transparent manner.
The JKSSB, during the year 2021, forwarded selections against about 11000 posts to various Indenting Departments which in itself is a record. Besides, more selections are under process which shall be completed and forwarded in due course. Further, the JKSSB also has cleared huge backlog of previous years and finalized selections which were languishing for one reason or another. In addition, a host of back to back examinations have been conducted during
the months of October, November, December and January, 2021 smoothly and selections shall be finalized in due course.
The JKSSB takes this opportunity to strongly refute motivated attempts by certain unscrupulous elements to spread misinformation for trying to malign the image of JKSSB on one pretext or another. The unscrupulous elements are also cautioned to desist from levelling false and frivolous allegations against JKSSB, as that may compel the JKSSB to contemplate initiation of legal proceedings against such elements under relevant provisions of law.
The JKSSB reiterates its commitment to ensure transparency and fairness of highest degree in all recruitment processes in tune with the expectation of general public, and would never get demoralised by motivated attempts of certain vested interests to peddle false information.
