Weatherman forecast widespread snowfall and rains. “A Western Disturbance is most likely to affect J&K between the 5th and 7th of December.” During the period, “widespread light to moderate snowfall and rain on the plains is forecast,” the official stated. “Some areas at high altitudes (over 2000m) may receive significant snow (1-2 feet), whereas plains are likely to receive 2- 3 inches of snow.” There is “no forecast” of severe snow and rain in the plains as of today, he said. “There is the chance of traffic congestion across passes such as Zojila, Sinthan Top, Razdan Top, and Mugal Road owing to snow and cold temperatures,” he stated.
