Name of the posts

1. Principal

i) Postgraduate degree in a related discipline
ii) M.Ed. with minimum 55 % marks
iii) Ph.D. in Education
iv) Ten years of professional experience in teacher education (UG and PG Levels)

2. Professor (M.Ed.)

i) Postgraduate degree with minimum 55 % marks in discipline relevant to the area of specialization
ii) Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed. / M.A. Education) with minimum 55% marks
iii) Ph. D. degree in Education
iv) Ten years of Professional Experience in teacher education (UG and PG Levels)
v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) Performance Based
Appraisal System (PBAS)

3. Associate Professor (M.Ed.)

i) Postgraduate degree with minimum 55 % marks in discipline relevant to the area of specialization
ii) Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed. / M.A. Education) with minimum 55% marks
iii) Ph. D. degree in Education
iv) Eight years of Professional Experience in teacher education (UG and PG Levels)
v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) Performance Based
Appraisal System (PBAS)

4. Assistant Professor (M.Ed.)

i) Postgraduate degree in a related discipline as per the requirement
ii) M.Ed. with a minimum of 55 % marks
OR
M.A. (Education) and B.Ed. each with a minimum of 55 % marks
iii) NET/SET in Education
Preference shall be given to the candidates with Ph.D. Degree in Education.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

Assistant Professor for Teaching of Hindi and Teaching of Social Studies

i) Postgraduate degree in Hindi and Social Sciences
ii) M.Ed./ M.A. (Education) & B.Ed. degree each with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized
University
iii) NET/SLET in Education
Preference shall be given to the candidates with Ph.D. Degree.
B.Ed. Spl. Education (MR/ID)

Assistant Professor

a) Essential qualification:
i) Masters Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks **
ii) M.Ed. Degree (Mental Retardation/ID) with not less than 55% of marks Or an equivalent
grade of B+
OR
An equivalent degree from a foreign university recognized by RCI having valid
registration with RCI
** As per the RCI guidelines
b) Desirable:
M.Phil. / Ph.D. in Special Education or Education with research emphasis on Special Education;
Experience for a period of at least 2 years as teacher or researcher in the area of specific
disability (Mental Retardation).

Candidates who fulfil the qualifications should apply on the prescribed Application Form available on the College website www.miercollege.in and submit the same alongwith necessary documents and a demand draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of ‘MIER College of Education’ payable at Jammu on or before January 20, 2018. The College reserves the right to shortlist the candidates in order of merit if the number of applications are more than the required number.
