Ban PUBG Game in Jammu and Kashmir
J&K State have voiced concern over the adverse effects of this PUBG game and demanded ban on it.
A student body had also urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to ban the game immediately. The association claims that PUBG Mobile game is extremely addictive and has resulted in poor results for the students in the recent class X and XII board exams. On January 19, 2019, Deputy Mayor, Srinagar, Sheikh Mohammad Imran met Governor Satya Pal Malik and appealed him to intervene in the matter.
Following lot of criticism from multiple sections of society to ban this game, the office of Chief Secretary BVR Subramanyam has written to the Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department for examination and appropriate action in this regard.
The letter vide number PS/CS/10/2019 303 dated January 28, 2019 under the subject: Ban on PUBG Game in J&K, reads,
“The undersigned is directed to forward herewith a copy of the communication dated January 17, 2019, received from Shiekh Mohammad Imran, Deputy Mayor, Srinagar, on the above subject, to the Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, for examination and appropriate action in this matter.”
