Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic Update 26 Sept 2025.

TRAFFIC POL ADVISORY FOR 26-09-2025:-
NH-44 (NHW)
Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has NOT been fully restored at Tharad, Udhampur.

There was very slow movement observed on NH-44 due to intermittent rain, single lane traffic, undulating & uneven surface of the road at Tharad, breakdown of 05 HMV’s and movement of 11 nomadic flocks.

Traffic movement is regulated manner at Tharad, Udhampur on NH-44 due to single lane about 250-300 Mtrs.

Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh/perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicles as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Tharad (Udhampur), at Naish/Flavas and between Marog & Kilithyari Pathar, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Avoid travel on NH-44, in view of heavy movement of nomadic herds, if not necessary.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, tomorrow only one way traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.

These vehicles shall be allowed from NAVYYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs

No LMV shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

LMVs going towards Dlistt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban from Jammu shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs. However, LMVs coming from Dlistt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban towards Jammu will be permitted to move but these vehicle must cross the Naish Tunnel before 1000 hrs.

Mughal road is open for LMVs from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.

HMVs/LGds on goat carrier:-
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the traffic situation and road condition on NH-44. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with traffic caravan before releasing the HMVs.

Sio Convoy Movement:-
Security Forces are advised requested not to ply against advisory /traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Tharad and Balinalbal/Marog and Kilithyari Pathar on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from NHIDCL, only LMVs shall be allowed from both sides via from Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice-versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana towards Anantnag from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs and from PP Dakbarra towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs as per order issued by SDM Chhatru vide No. SDM(K)y/252-260/30-37 dated 15-09-2025 and SDM Kotranka vide No. SDM(K)y/255-271 dated 16-05-2025.

SSC ROAD:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF), LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Ramban towards Srinagar at 0530 hrs. However, all tourist vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after set off timing.

Civv Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that they shall not clash.

Mughal Road:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF), LMVs Passenger/Private cars shall be allowed from both sides via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behmargala (Bafliaz) between 0600 hrs to 1720 hrs and from Herpora (Shopian) between 0600 hrs and 1740 hrs as per order issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DM/P&N/ trauma/131-02 dated 12-08-2025. However, HMV’s carrying essential commodities are allowed subject to taking permission from HO Poonch towards Shopian and no HMV shall be allowed after 1630 hrs from Anantnag Naka. Moreover, no HMV will be allowed from Herpora Naka towards Mughal Road. TUC Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cut off timings.
