Jammu Sringar NHW Traffic update 20 sept.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 20-09-2025:
NH-44 (NHW)

Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has NOT been fully restored at Thard, Udhampur.

There was very slow movement observed on NH-44 due to intermittent rain, single lane traffic, undulating & uneven surface of the road at Thard.

Traffic managed on single lane movement at Thard, Udhampur on NH-44 due to single lane about 250-300 Mtrs.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Avoid travel on NH-44, if not necessary.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, tomorrow only one way traffic for LMVs shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

These vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs.

No LMV shall be allowed from Srinagar/Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban towards Jammu on NH-44.

HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Jammu towards Srinagar towards Jammu and vice versa.

HMVs/Load Carriers:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Jakhani (Udhampur) towards Kashmir after assessing the traffic situation and road condition on NH-44. Cut-off timing shall be till late evening from Jakhani before releasing the HMVs.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Thard and Ballian/Marog and Kishtwar Pahfar Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW/NH-44 from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from NHDICL, only LMVs shall be allowed from Kishtwar towards Anantnag via Kishtwar and vice-versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. HMVs shall be allowed from PPP towards Anantnag from 0800 hrs to 0900 hrs and from Dacchan towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs. to 1500 hrs. as per advisory issued by SDM Chatroo vide no. SDM/PS/2025-24/16-53 dated 02-06-2025 and SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/NG/665-71 dated 15-05-2025.

SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and road condition, after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle movement shall be allowed after cut off timing.

SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic does not get disturbed.

Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (RMEF), LMVs & Passenger Light Motor Vehicles followed by HMVs (up to 10 tyres) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian (Buffliaz) on Mughal road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) between 0900 hrs to 1400 hrs. and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 0800 and 1700 hrs as per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide no. DMP/PA/2025-24/591 dated 31-03-2025. Mughal road shall be closed for HMVs with more than 10 tyres. Moreover, no vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

SFs Convoy, plying from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic does not get disturbed.

No vehicle shall be allowed from opposite direction. No HMVs will be allowed from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch after 1400 hrs.

Commuters are advised to undertake journey only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-
