TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 07-10-2025:
NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar NHW)
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has NOT been fully restored at Thard, Udhampur.

There was only single-way movement observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Thard, breakdown of 03 HMVs and 14 nomadic flocks.

Goods carrier (HMVs/LMVs) Operators carrying fresh perishable stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters in case there is a single-lane traffic and poor condition of road at Thard (Udhampur), at Nashri-Dawass and between Marog & Kishtwari Pathar, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44.

People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units. Avoid traveling on NH-44 unnecessarily.

In view of inclement weather prediction issued by IMD, people are advised to undertake journey only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units and J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Subject to fair weather and better road condition, tomorrow (07-10-2025) only one-way traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

These vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs
and from Jakhani (Udhampur) between 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs.

No LMV shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.

HMVs:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Kashmir after LMV convoy. However, LMVs/HMVs coming from Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban towards Jammu shall use the newly constructed Navyug Tunnel between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs.

Mughal Road:
Mughal road is open for LMVs from Srinagar towards Jammu and vice versa.

HMV/Load Carriers:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Zig/Quazigund side) towards Jammu only after LMVs tail crosses Kishtwari Pathar. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing traffic.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion due to narrow carriageway between Nashri and Banihal/Jawahar Tunnel and Kishtwari Pathar on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Srinagar & Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244:
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed due to fresh snowfall.

SS ROAD:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from BRO, traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Sonamarg between 0700 hrs to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Minamarg between 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed between 1700 hrs to 0700 hrs.

SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil traffic doesn’t get disturbed.

Advisory for tourists and general public:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (GREF), only one-way traffic shall be allowed on Srinagar-Leh Highway for LMVs followed by HMVs.
LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Sonamarg between 0700 hrs to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Minamarg between 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed between 1700 hrs to 0700 hrs.
HMVs and LMVs operators shall strictly follow the advisory issued by District Magistrate Drass on NH-1D.

CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR LMVs/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARS GOING TOWARDS JAMMU VIA MUGHAL ROAD:
From Behramgalla (Buffliaz), Poonch – 0600 hrs to 1600 hrs.
From Herpora (Shopian) – 0600 hrs to 1600 hrs.

CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR HMVs FROM SRINAGAR TOWARDS JAMMU VIA MUGHAL ROAD:
From Behramgalla (Buffliaz), Poonch – 0600 hrs to 1600 hrs.
