JE caught red handed taking bribe.

A Junior Engineer (JE) of the Rural Development Department (RDD) was apprehended by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for receiving a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant in exchange for processing and preparing the bill for the MG-NREGA work that he completed.

In response to a complaint from a resident of the village of Kunnel (Qaziabad, Handwara, district Kupwara), who claimed that he completed some work under the MG-NREGA, JE Arshid Ayoub Marazi and GR Suboor Mir demanded bribes of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 from him as their commission for the preparation and processing of the bill of work and labour demand.

He stated that after conducting verification, the ACB determined that the claims were accurate, and a case FIR Number 02-2024 was filed in accordance with the applicable laws.
