JKPDD launches billsahuliyat Online Electricity bill payment Sytem

Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department consumers shall get a breather from the monthly cumbersome exercise of waiting in queues at bank branches to pay electricity bills— the department has started online bill payment from this month.

The online billing would bring ease in the payment of bills, as customers can now pay bills sitting at home. The consumers can login on to http:/ billsahuliyat. jkpdd. net/ and use JK bank’s net banking service to pay the bill.

Minister of State for Power, Muhammad Ashraf Mir said the move is aimed to make payment of bills hassle- free and “ this step is also part of the campaign aimed to bring ease in doing business as the commercial consumers can also avail the benefit of online payment facility.” “ Our government is working on making services available to people at doorsteps. We have witnessed that payment of bills is a cumbersome exercise for our people and keeping into consideration the difficulties they face, the decision to make bill payment online was taken to mitigate problems of common people,”

The online payment through other banks can be done only after state government gives nod to that proposal.

The online billing was initially started as a pilot project from December last.

This step is also aimed to bring ease in doing business as the commercial consumers can also avail this benefit.
