Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic update 05 May 25.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

From 03-05-2025, 1700 hrs. to 04-05-2025, 1700 hrs. there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 03 HMVs, movement of 05 nomadic flocks, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather and due to poor road surface condition.

Traffic managed on regulated manner at Mehad, Cafeteria, Ramban on NH-44 due to single lane road of 150-200 Mtrs. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; avoid overtaking, over speeding and wrong lane driving.

Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic control units.

Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to undertake journey only after confirming the status of road from TCUs to avoid inconvenience.

HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Vehicle owners are also requested to double check the fitness of their vehicles and avoid old vehicles.

HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

Commuters are advised not to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW without confirming status of road from Traffic control units as intermittent shooting stones between Mehar and Cafeteria, poor road surface conditions between Nashree and Banihal coupled with movement of nomads may cause inconvenience.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 05-05-2025:
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs (Load carrier) shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the road condition. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
After 1600 hrs. HMVs shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after 1600 hrs. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road condition. Commuters are requested to be made NH-44 status at TCU Ramban before undertaking journey.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road shall be taken tomorrow. Commuters are advised to confirm road status from concerned department and road maintenance agency NHDCL.

SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from the BRO, LMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Sonamarg between 1030hrs. – 1300hrs. Thereafter only LMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Minamarg between 1400 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.

Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from BRO and clearance from road agencies (GREF), LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides viz from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa on Mughal road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) towards Shopian at 0600 hrs. upto 1800 hrs. & from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch at 0600 hrs. upto 1800 hrs. HMVs (up to six tyres only) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) at 0900 hrs.

Bhaderwah-Chamba road:
Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still closed due to snow accumulation.

People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:
