No extension of winter vacations in Jammu’s Summer Zone.

Authorities on Saturday clarified that there will be no extension of winter vacations in Jammu’s Summer Zone. All government and private schools will reopen as scheduled from January 12.

Officials said that teaching staff have already resumed duties and were directed to report to their respective institutions on Saturday. Teachers are currently present in schools, while students will return to regular classes from January 12 in accordance with the existing academic calendar.

The clarification comes amid a surge of unverified social media posts suggesting a possible extension of holidays due to weather conditions. Authorities dismissed these claims as baseless rumours and advised parents and students not to rely on unofficial sources.

They further stated that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth resumption of academic activities across schools in the Summer Zone. School administrations have been instructed to strictly adhere to the notified schedule.

Education department officials reiterated that any decision regarding holidays or academic changes will be communicated only through official channels, urging the public to refrain from spreading or acting on misinformation.

With this clarification, the winter break concludes on January 10, and normal classes will resume from January 12 as planned.
