TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 03-09-2025

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

One tube of each bridge of Lakhampur-Madhopur, Sahrk Khand, Vijaypur on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway has been damaged due to incessant rains. However, 2nd tube of each bridge is operational for vehicular movement on regulatory basis. Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline on this stretch.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 03-09-2025:-

NH-44 (NHW)
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) is open for vehicular movement from Jakhani (Udhampur) towards Srinagar due to the stretch of land on the upper side of road has been sunk at Trerad, Udhampur and stranded load carrier vehicles will be cleared first. Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars, after thorough checking shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Kashmir, via Jakhani, Chenani, Pantihpoo, Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters belonging to Katra and Udhampur are requested to keep their photo ID card ready and preferably carry no. of passengers for the traffic to be facilitated smoothly. Please check status of road at traffic Police Twitter handle, Facebook page, TCUs.

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement.

SSG ROAD
As of now, continuous traffic is occurring on SSG road, subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

Note: Commuters going from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner that Civil Traffic (both UP and DOWN) don’t get disturbed.

Mughal Road:
As of now, continuous traffic is occurring on Mughal road, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF). LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Mughal road. HMVs (load carriers up to 10 tyres) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian. However, HMVs (Essential commodities from trucks six tyres only) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgala (Buffliaz) 0600 hrs. to 1730 hrs. and from Herpora (Shopian) 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs. As per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMPJ/9921-9318 dated 31-08-2025.
