TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 08-10-2025:
NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar NHW)

Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has NOT been fully restored at Thard, Udhampur.

Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 18 hrs 30 mins due to shooting stones/mudslide at multiple places. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Thard, breakdown of 6 HMVs and movement of 15 nomadic flocks on NH-44.

Goods carrier (HMVs/LMVs) Operators carrying fresh perishable stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters in case there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road (Thard Udhampur), at Nashri-Dawass and between Marog & Kishtwari Pathar, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Avoid travel on NH-44, if not necessary.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, tomorrow only one way traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.

These vehicles shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs.

No LMV shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

HMVs/Load Carriers:
Due to blockage of NHW-44, down HMVs from Qazigund could not be released. Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, only upward HMVs at Qazigund area shall be allowed towards Jammu. However, up HMVs from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar shall be allowed tomorrow after down HMV tail crosses Thard. TCU Srinagar and TCU Ramban shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion due to narrow carriageway between Thard and Ballian/Nalafarm and Kishtwari Pathar on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status from TCU Srinagar, Ramban and Udhampur.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244:
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is still closed due to snow accumulation.

SS ROAD:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Sonamarg between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut off timing.

SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that civil traffic (Up and Down) don’t get disturbed.

Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF), LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides (via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa). LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) Poonch towards Shopian at 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs. Similarly, HMVs shall be allowed from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch at 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs as per daily advisory issued by District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DM/SHOPIAN/3916 dated 31-08-2025. However, decision regarding the movement of HMVs shall be taken tomorrow after assessing the road condition.

Akhnoor 1200 hrs
Rajouri 1330 hrs
Manjakote 1530 hrs
Bafliaz 1600 hrs
Shopian 1700 hrs

People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:
