Traffic Plan/Advisory for 23-10-2025.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 23-10-2025:-
NH-44 (NHW)

There was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic at Banihal, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 04 HMVs and movement of 06 nomadic herds between Marog and Kishtwari Pather.

Goods carriers (HMVs/LMVs) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters J&K to avoid getting stuck on NH-44.
Moreover, due to single lane and poor road condition at Dalwas, Mehad, Panthyal, Magerkote, Nachlana, Gangroo etc. and slow movement between Nashri-Dhalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44.

Advisory:
Drivers are advised to refrain from overtaking, wrong lane driving, and use caution while crossing narrow stretches. Avoid travel on NH-44, if not necessary.

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
However, HMVs shall be managed in a regulated manner. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

CUT OFF TIMING FOR LMVs/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARS:

• From Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar: 0800 hrs. to 1100 hrs.

• From Qazigund towards Jammu: 0800 hrs. to 1100 hrs.
  No vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timings.

HMVs/Load Carriers:

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu. These vehicles shall be regulated from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44. TCU Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the movement of HMVs.

SFs Convoy Movement:-

Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriageway between Tharad and Banihal/Marog and Kishtwari Pather on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244:

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting signal from NHDCL, only LMVs shall be allowed both sides from Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice-versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. HMVs shall be allowed only from Kishtwar towards Anantnag between 1500 hrs. to 1900 hrs. and from PA Palbus towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs. to 1500 hrs. as per road conditions.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.

SSG ROAD:

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic shall be allowed from both sides on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road for LMVs followed by HMVs from Minamarg towards Sonamarg from 0700 hrs. to 1500 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Minamarg from 0700 hrs. to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.

HMVs shall follow the convoy strictly and ply in a regulated manner in such a manner so that there is no traffic congestion on the road.

Mughal Road:

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from the road maintenance agency (PWD), vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Mughal Road viz from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa via Poonch. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs. and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timings.

No movement of any vehicle shall be allowed after the scheduled cut-off timing in any circumstances to ensure smooth regulation.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform about any change in road status.
