Two LeT Hybrid Terrorists Held in Shopian CASO.

Security forces on Thursday arrested two hybrid terrorists along with arms and ammunition in the Baskuchan Imam Sahib area of Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The operation was jointly carried out by the Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

According to officials, the arrested individuals were found in possession of two AK-56 rifles, four AK magazines, 102 rounds of ammunition, and two hand grenades.A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under relevant sections of the law.

Security operations across the region have been intensified following the deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam, where Pakistan-sponsored Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists killed 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local pony handler.

The brutal attack shocked the nation and prompted a heightened crackdown on terrorist elements in the Union Territory.(KNS)
