Scholarship for students with Disabilities.

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment invites applications for Overseas Scholarship for students with Disabilities.

1. Applications are invited for National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities for the year 2018-19.

2. Financial assistance to pursue Master’s Degree and Ph.D courses abroad in the fields of

(a) Engineering & Management
(b) Pure Sciences & Applied Sciences
(c) Agricultural Science & Medicine
(d) Commerce, Accounting & Finance
(e) Humanities, Social Science including Law & Fine Arts.

3. A total of 20 scholarships are awarded every year, out of which six scholarships are reserved for female candidates.

4. Under the scheme, there is a provision of annual maintenance allowance of 9,900/- Pound (Great Britain) for courses in the United Kingdom and US $ 15,400/- for courses in other countries. In addition, there are provisions of tuition fees, cost of air passage etc. Detailed eligibility criteria, other terms and conditions and application form are available on the website of this Department (www: disabilityaffairs.gov.in).

Eligibility: Candidates with 40% and more disability and having a proper disability certificate to this effect issued by a competent medical authority with age not exceeding 35 years, securing 55% marks and above in Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree with parental annual income not exceeding Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum are eligible to apply.

Disability is as defined in Rights to Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Interested and eligible candidates may submit their applications in the prescribed application form to the Under Secretary (Scholarships), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Room No. 516, 5th Floor, Pt. Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi — 110003 throughout the year.
