Kashmir Doctor Among Four Killed In Jammu Flash Floods

A young Kashmir doctor is reported to have been swept away by flash floods along with his car when he was crossing a small rivulet in the Mahore area. Three others were killed in Poonch and one of them was buried alive in his mud-house.
Identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Wani, a resident of Mandhole Kulgam, reports said he slipped into a nalla when he was on his way home for celebrating Eid. He was posted at CHC Mahore.
On a slippery road, his car (JK02AW/1801), went out of control and rolled down into a mountain stream flowing ferociously near Sangaldan, about 22 km from Ramban. He died on the spot and his body was later shifted to Sangaldan hospital by police, reports said. The incident took place Friday morning.
Heavy rain led to triggered flashfloods in Darhal and Thana Mandi areas. Two persons including the JCB driver and his helper were washed away in their machine at Aitti Bhalla (Rajouri).
Helper, Abrar Ahmed, son of Jamal Din, resident of Sokar village in Kotranka (Kandi) was recovered and an operation is on to recover the body of the driver, Sajjad Aslam, son of Mohammad Aslam Lohar, resident of Sokar village. In Bandi Kama, Mandi (Poonch), Abdul Karim Mir, was buried alive after his house was extensively damaged in a landslide during the intervening night of July 7 and 8.
