History

A part of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the region is the subject of a dispute among China, India and Pakistan. Western districts of the former princely state known as Azad Kashmir and the northern territories known as Gilgit-Baltistan have been under Pakistani control since 1947. Geographical Structure

The Jammu and Kashmir is a UT of India, located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent in the vicinity of the Karakoram and westernmost Himalayan mountain ranges.
