For (3) Ph.D. positions (2 Full time and 1 Part time) granted under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme in the subject of Electronics and Information Technology

On-line Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for three (3) Ph.D. positions (Two (2) Full time and one (1) Part time) under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme to join as Ph.D. scholars at University of Kashmir.

The scheme is available for the Ph.D. candidates in the research topic which come under the broad research categories of Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). The scheme is not available for candidates who are already enrolled for Ph.D. programme at University

Name of the Position: Ph.D. Fellowship;

Number of Positions :
Three (3) (2 Full time and 1 Part time)

Nodal Officer/PI : Prof. M Tariq Banday;

Fellowship and Benefits :
a) Fellowship: Rs. 38750/- per month (I&II Years); Rs. 43750/- per month (III Year onwards);
b) Reimbursement of Rent (ROR): Class Y @ 16%;
c) Research Contingency Grant support of Rs. 1,20,000/- per year during the duration of the Ph.D.;
d) Support for attending International Conferences

Duration of Fellowship :
Five (5) years or the Ph.D. duration whichever is less;

Eligibility :
Masters in Science/Engineering/Technology in Electronics or Computers or Information Technology

Issuance of On-line Application Forms From November 19, 2025
Last date of submission of On-line Application Forms/Deposition of requisite fee November 30, 2025
Tentative Date of conduct of Entrance Test December 11, 2025

Admission Procedure :
Selection shall be made through a written entrance test. The entrance test syllabus is available on the University website. A candidate may choose any one of the themes (Electronics or Computer/IT) for the written test.

Additional information :
No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview or joining the position;

The fellowship is for a time bond project and the selected candidates are required to work dedicatedly for the successful completion of the project;

The fellowship shall be granted according to the terms and conditions under the scheme of MeitY and the Ph.D. programme shall be governed by the UGC and University of Kashmir Ph.D. regulations;
