Online Walk in Interview for engagement of Contract Medical Practitioner (CMP)/Staff Nurse in Divisional Railway Hospital, Charbagh, Lucknow.

In view of exigencies related with the COVID-19 global pandemic, application are invited for online Walk in interview for engagement of full time Medical Staff to work on Re-engagement/ Contract basis over Lucknow Division, Northern Railway under Divisional Hospital of Lucknow Division on temporary basis for a period of three months which has been scheduled on 17.01.2020 onwards. The Period of Re-engagement/contract will be of three months only purely on temporary basis.

Total no. of vacancy=134.

Since there is utmost exigencies related with the COVID-19 global pandemic situation, posts are over and above sanctioned posts, no prescribed community reservation is applicable. Moreover, the vacancies may alter as per Administrative requirement at any time during the engagement process.

2. The age limit is between 20 years to 40 years, which is to be calculated as on 01/05/2020 and in case of re-engaged employee the age criteria is that they should be below age of 65 years during period of engagement.

Age relaxation will be given to candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWBD etc category as per extant rules.

1. In case of re-engaged staff it will be guided by existing railway policy.

2. For contractual staff nurses it will be guided by railway board letter No. 2017/trans/01/policy/ 12.04.18 where contractual staff is eligible for:

Basic Pay+DA+other admissible allowances

3. The remuneration will be further subjected to provisions of minimum wages act/Ministry of Labours guidelines of Railway Ministry/Board from time to time.


(a) The engagement is purely on contractual basis for three months only. The service rendered as Re-engagement/Contract of Medical staff is arrangement for meeting up the requirement of the pandemic situation and it will not confer any right for automatic regularization/ absorption in any circumstances. The full time Medical staff who enters into contract/re-engagement with the railways will not have any claim or right for his/her continuity in service or automatic extension of the term Contract/Re-engagement. The Railway Administration has full right reserved to discontinue Contract/Re-engagement at any stage.

(b) First priority will be given to re-engagement or retired railway medical staff only, outsiders on contract will be considered only if adequate staff for re-engagement is not available.

(c) The medical staff shall undergo medical examination, before the contract/re-engagement is entered into, for his/her fitness to perform the work awarded to him/her.

(d) All other terms and condition as laid in Railway Board’s letter no. E(NG)ll/2005/RC-4/SC/2 dated 31.03.2020 and others as mentioned from time to time shall be binding upon the Medical staff.

(e) After conducting interview with shortlisted candidates (in case huge numbers of applications received) panel will be prepared and as and when required they will be called to join. In other words mere placement of panel doesn’t confer any rightto join.

Candidates who fulfil above terms and condition and having requisite qualification should send their application with scanned and self attested copies of following attachments on or before 15:00 hrs of 16.04.2020 on email id [email protected] and should be available on the scheduled date and time on video call on ZOOM/Whats app with their original certificates.

1. DOB proof

2. Educational qualification (degree & mark sheets)

3. Experience certificate/NOC certificate (if already working)

4. Caste/PWBD certificate (in case of candidate belonging to reserved/PWBD community)

5. Passport size photograph

6. ID Proof


During the period of contract either party (the engaged contractual medical staff or Railway Administration) can terminate the contract on 15 days’ prior notice. In case the Medical staff is found physically or mentally invalid incapacitated the contract can be terminated forthwith. However if Medical staff leaves without notice or before completion of 15 days’ notice, he/she shall be liable to pay the amount for the required period as per prevailing rates.
