S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences Jobs.

Direct Applications and/or nominations from Indian Nationals are invited for the post of DIRECTOR, S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences.

The Centre has research activities on Physical, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences in Theoretical, Computational and Experimental areas. The Centre undertakes cutting edge research in chosen areas of basic sciences including areas of application potentials and is currently engaged also in translation research activities. In order to strengthen the R&D based human capacity, the Centre runs Ph.D. (post M.Sc.), Integrated Ph. D (post B.Sc.) and post-doctoral Research programmes, (details of current research activities are available in the website: http://www.bose.res.in).

The Director will have the overall administrative control of the Centre and will provide high-level leadership to the Centre in identification of research programmes and projects of national and international relevance.

■ Essential Qualifications :

Doctorate in any branch of physical, chemical or mathematical sciences

■ Essential Experience for Direct Recruitment:

(a) At least 25 years of research experience in industrial and academic institutions and / or Science and Technology organizations or as faculty / scientist of recognized national/international universities / research institutes / Corporate R&D Labs etc, out of which at least 6 years should be in a senior position managing a Research Group, chairing Committees outside the institute or in managerial / administrative capacity for science & technology programmes, planning and development, budget & finance, coordination and such organizational matters.

(b) R&D experience in any branch of science, especially Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics

■ Mode of Recruitment:

(a) Direct Recruitment; (b) By Deputation, including short term contract;

■ Tenure:

3 to 5 yrs or on attaining the age of superannuation as per extant Govt, of India instructions (60 years at present), whichever is earlier.

■ Age Limit:

Not exceeding 56 years as on 1st July, 2020;

■ Scale of pay:

Pay level: 17 in 7th CPC (Basic pay – Rs. 2,25,000 /-) with allowances as per Central Government Rules.

For candidates in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date of receipt of applications (including nominations) is 18th February 2021.
