2 Killed in Mughal Road Accident.

MENDHAR, Jun 11: Two persons were killed when their vehicle met with an accident on the historic Mughal Road, connecting Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu region today, official sources said this evening.
“This evening about 05:45 PM, a vehicle Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK12-1129 on its way from Shopian to Bufliaz in Surankote skidded off the road and plunged into a deep 400 metre gorge near Ratta Chamb bridge. The accident occurred as driver lost his control of the vehicle. Both the driver and cleaner identified as Nazarat Ali, 23, son of Mohammed Taj resident of Bhera village in Mendhar, and Mushtaq Ahmed, 24, son of Mohammed Sharief, resident of Mendhar respectively died in the accident,” officials informed.
“Army along with police and locals retrieved their bodies and shifted them to Sub District hospital Surankote. After performing an autopsy the bodies were handed over to the families for last rites. Police registered a case in this regard and started investigation,” they added.
