DSEK ordered change in schools timing inside Srinagar.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) ordered a change in the timings of schools inside the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) boundaries on Wednesday.

The DSEK has issued an instruction in this respect, and the new time will be applicable to all government and private institutions beginning June 1.

“As a result of the Administrative Department’s approval conveyed via Letter No Edu-Gen/53/2023-01 dated May 31, 2023, all government and private recognised schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar city will observe school timings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning June 1, 2023,” the DSEK order states.

Previously, when schools reopened in March, the Traffic Police Department in Srinagar advised to the School Education Department (SED) that the scheduling of schools inside city limits be changed to reduce traffic congestion.

Because of the narrowness of the roadways in the city centre, the department advised a school schedule from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
