Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Plan for 27.04.2017
The repair/widening work of the NHW at Seri, Gangroo, Panthyal, Hingni, Sherbibi and Ramsoo is going on and efforts are being made by the concerned road maintenance agencies to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view the over all condition of the road, plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.
As such, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW on 27.04.2017. Under the said plan, movement of traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side in a regulated manner. Movement of LMVs/passenger vehicles/Tankers shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0700 hours up to 1000 hours and from Udhampur up to 1100 hours only. However, the movement of HMVs (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0730 hours up to 1030 hours and from Udhampur up to 1130 hours only. Strict implementation of prescribed cut off timings shall be ensured to avoid chaos/ congestion on the NHW.
No movement of any sort of traffic shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side on 27.04.2017 under any circumstances aimed at ensuring hassle free movement of traffic on the NHW.
Commuters are requested/advised that vehicles are not parked in any landslide/vulnerable zones of NHW, especially from Ramsoo – Jawahar Tunnel – Levdora under any circumstances. All the vulnerable/slide-prone zones should be kept free from any kind of traffic to avoid any eventuality.
It may be pertinent to mention here that despite hectic efforts by the concerned road maintenance agencies in clearing-off the road at Drabshalla, the road at the said location could not be made traffic worthy due to triggering of regular shooting stones and is still blocked. As such no movement of traffic shall be allowed on the said road stretch tomorrow on 27.04.2017 keeping the security/safety of the passengers in view. However, after completion of the restoration/repair work, movement of traffic on the said road stretch shall be allowed in a regulated manner after assessing the road condition.
People are requested to undertake journey on the National Highway after confirming status from the TCUs as the chances of occurring sudden land slides on the NHW cannot be ruled out.
