Jammu Srinagar NHW Traffic Update 28 Feb.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

MeT department has predicted snowfall on high reaches and heavy rainfall on NH-44 for tomorrow in J&K. People are advised not to travel on hilly roads/NH-44 without confirmation from TCUs.

From 26-02-2025, 1100 hrs to 27-02-2025, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of HMVs, incessant rains, shooting stones at many places, single lane traffic between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel and due to four lane construction work.

Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time as there is apprehension of shooting stones/slides between Nashri and Banihal.

Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW.

HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.


TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 28-02-2025:

In view of incessant rains and shooting stones at many places between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel vehicular movement stopped from both sides on Jammu Srinagar NHW. Commuters are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till the weather improves and road is clear. Decision regarding the vehicular movement on Jammu Srinagar NHW shall be taken tomorrow after assessment of road condition and getting green signal from road maintenance agencies.


Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement as per Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag’s advisory endstt. no. SDM/KKNG/2024-25/3139-45 dated 16-01-2025.


SOG ROAD

Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road is still closed due to snow accumulation.


Mughal Road:

Mughal Road is closed for vehicular movement as per District Magistrate Poonch’s order endstt. no. DMP/JC/7273-92 dated 18-01-2025 in view of snow accumulation.


Bhaderwah-Chamba road:

Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
