Major Lapse: JKBOSE postpones exam as class 12th students receive class 11th question paper

In a major lapse, the class 12th students appearing in the examination of Physical Education subject were wrongly distributed question paper of class 11th by examination staff leaving students high and dry.

Soon after receiving the question paper, the class 12th students made hue and cry over the lapse forcing the Jammu & Kashmir Board authorities to postpone the class 12th examination of Physical education subject, scheduled today.

“It has been decided that today’s physical education paper of class 12th been postponed. However the rescheduled date shall be notified separately in due course of time,” Joint Secretary Examination JKBOSE, told Greater Kashmir.

He said that all the superintendents have been asked to ensure to collect the answer books as well as question papers of subject physical education.

“The superintendents will make a separate packet and deposit the same in the sealed packet and hand over the same to the concerned board office,” he said.

The major lapse in distribution of question paper among the students has raised questions over maintaining sanctity of the exams.

The official aid that question papers were deposited by JKBOSE in police stations were marked as 12th papers.

“The issue of deposition and distribution of wrong question paper were reported in examination centres across UT,” he said.

The Joint Secretary said that a probe will be done to ascertain how wrong question papers were packed.
