PM to dedicate to nation world’s longest high altitude ‘Atal Tunnel’ on Oct 3.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation the world’s longest high altitude tunnel, the Atal Tunnel, at Rohtang tomorrow. It is built at an altitude of 10000 feet. The 9.2 km long highway tunnel has been constructed at an estimated cost of 3,200 crore rupees.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shall inaugurate Atal Tunnel, Rohtang at 10 AM on Saturday, 3rd October 2020. Atal Tunnel is the longest highway tunnel in the World. The 9.02 Km long tunnel connects Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the year. Earlier the valley was cut off for about 6 months each year owing to heavy snowfall.
