Because the crescent moon was not visible on Saturday, Saudi Arabia declared Monday, May 2 as the first day of Shawwal.

As a result, the last day of Ramadan will be Sunday, and the first day of Shawwal will be Monday, according to Gulf News.

According to the UAE Moon Sighting Committee, because the Shawwal crescent was not sighted in the UAE on Saturday, Ramadan will end on Sunday, May 1, and Eid Al Fitr will begin on Monday, May 2.
